hi ken, thank you for your comment! it was helpful. you sound very successful and it seems as though you have had an interesting career life so far and have had the joy of variation. i understand why you did not like sales, probably for the same reasons that i know i would not like it. so, how did you go about beginning as an underwriter with liberty mutual? of course knowing much about insurance helps, but what would make my chances best for getting noticed when applying to uw-trainee type positions? if not in sales, would it make sense to familiarize myself more by working as a CSR? or in some type of claims call center? would it also help if i went ahead and got the same license that a professional in sales or a CSR would have?

i took an insurance class in college and have worked as an admin assistant in an insurance agency, and i enjoyed both experiences so thats where my interest has come from. what would you recommend to someone like me, that is willing to start at the bottom and move up?(but not beginning in sales) what kinds of experiences do employers look for when looking to hire an underwriter or a claims adjuster?

i just realized how long this coment is, but thank you so much for your feedback. it is very appreciated! :)
